A Walk in the Park

Even in winter,

a walk in the park can be a delight,
with towering gums casting long, long shadows,

and grass sweetly green after summer's brown.

A bench shaped to fit a tree,

bridges to cross,


and scooters to ride.


And the river to watch for trolls and hobbits,

and the first ducklings of spring.
