200 conversas. 200 partilhas que me levaram a uma das coisas mais importantes da vida: a amizade. Através do blog encontrei pessoas que, de outra forma, dificilmente teria conhecido. E, para mim, é o melhor que isto traz.

Já tenho este poster há algum tempo, comprei-o no Etsy - a lojinha entretanto fechou... E já há algum tempo que pensava sorteá-lo num give away aqui no blog - gostava de poder dar um presente a cada seguidor, mas não é possível! :)

A little Valentine sweet table

Aproveitei este dia de sol para por a mesa no jardim. Com a ajuda da Carlota, lá conseguimos tirar a mesa da sala - já montada com os pratos em cima - e, mesmo tendo caído uma perna (da mesa, claro!), conseguimos levar a nossa avante! Como é habitual, a minha ideia inicial para este tema deu muitas voltas e houve muita coisa que tinha idealizado que acabei por não fazer. Estive mesmo para desistir da ideia, por várias razões, mas estava com pena de não aproveitar algumas das peças alusivas a este dia que já tinha juntado. E, como adoro doces, decidi a semana passada fazer esta mesa para um lanche e este foi o resultado final. 

Esta é a minha inspiração para o Dia de S.Valentim - um amor doce, cor-de-rosa e dourado, os cupidos e os postais dos anos 40 (que eu adoro!), as flores (sempre) e os corações...

Bolo: Cupcake

Today was sunny, so I decided to take the table outside. With the help of Carlota, we managed to carry the table already set to the back porch - one of the table leg's fell apart, but we reached our goal successfully! :-) As usual, my initial ideas for this table were a little different, but some things didn't run as planned and  I had already given up the idea of doing it. But I was a little sad, as I had already gathered a few things regarding Valentine's Day, so this week I decided to go along and make it! I love sweets, so it's hard to say no to a good treat!

This is my inspiration for Valentine's Day: a sweet, pink love, with gold touches and a vintage feeling. I love the two postcards that are on the table, they are part of a collection that I have and I can't get enough of staring at them.

Há imagens que valem mil palavras... não sei se é das camadas de papel, do efeito do cabide, se do conjunto todo... mas adoro estes corações em papel, tão próprios da época namoradeira que atravessamos! Love will bring us back together

Está a chegar o Dia de S. Valentim e o meu coração bate forte quando vê estes postais antigos... Eu acho uma delícia os cupidos de início do século XX e deleito-me a ler algumas das mensagens de amor que se escreviam naquela época... Eram realmente tempos diferentes.

Vou tentar tirar umas fotografias a uns postais dos anos 40 que tenho guardados (já prometi isso em tempos, mas ainda não o consegui fazer) para vos mostrar os detalhes e as cores dos desenhos daquela época.

Valentine's Day is coming and my heart beats stronger when I see these beautiful postcards from the early XX century. I really enjoy reading the love messages that some of these old cards still have written on them, they are so cute!... Those times were really different from our days and age.

I have told you this before, but I'll try to take some pictures of the Valentine's postcards that I have - they're mainly from the 40s and I would like to show you the colors and the lovely details of those drawings.

Lovely details

Como penso que já se devem ter apercebido, a minha cabeça passou das festividades natalícias para as festividades amorosas, vulgo Dia dos Namorados. Confesso que é uma data que nunca me disse muito, pois sou da opinião que namorar é uma celebração que se deve festejar diariamente e não num dia específico, mas o tema do amor é tão rico e tão bonito, que nada melhor que uma mesa de doces para o representar! Então quero ir-vos mostrando algumas das ideias que tenho visto por aí e que são pormenores deliciosos e românticos que valem a pena partilhar. Hoje o tema são as palhinhas. Ficam tão giras, não acham?

O Dia de S. Valentim tem algum significado especial para vocês? Costumam celebrá-lo?

Some of you may have already noticed that my mind changed from Christmas thoughts to Valentine's Day dreaming. I confess: it's not a date that I care about much, as for me the celebration of love has to be enjoyed everyday and not only on a specific date. But love and Valentine's themes are so rich in terms of party decor that nothing's sweeter than a dessert table to celebrate it! So I'll be sharing with you some of the beautiful ideas that I've been finding along the way, truly lovely and romantic! Today the theme is about straws. So cute, dont't you think?

Precious little things

Adoro toalhas de cozinha, adoro as cerâmicas da Ninainvorm, ando louca para ter uma peça dela (ah! adoro pratos na parede), adoro as bandeirolas da Purl Bee e também adoro as tijelas da House Doctor! Adoro mochos em louça, a cor turquesa, todas as cores, na realidade, e tudo o que diga "Love" - não há palavra mais bonita!

Fiz este moodboard para partilhar convosco algumas das pequenas coisas de que gosto. Adoro partilhá-las convosco.

I love tea towels, I love Ninainvorm's ceramics, I'm dying to have one of her plates (oh, and I love plates on the wall), I love Purl Bee's party garlands and I also love House Doctor's bowls! I love ceramics owls, the colour turquoise, every colour, in fact, and everything that has the word "Love" written in it - that's the best word of all!
