Short vacations...
Hoje entro de férias, durante uma semana. Espero ter tempo de vir aqui para vos visitar e ir mostrando algumas das inspirações para os anos da Carlota (e da Conchinha, que também vai festejar em conjunto com a irmã). Quero ter tempo para o blog! :)
Tirei umas fotos a correr, de umas rosas que adoro - são artificiais. Espero que gostem. Eu também adoro as fitas...
Hi everyone! Here I am, for a quick hello! Next week I'll be on vacations, so hopefully I'll visit you here more often. I want to share with you some of the things that inspire me for Carlota's birthday party (and Conchinha's as well, as she is celebrating her birthday along with her sister). I wanna have time for the blog! :)
I'm showing you these pictures of some artificial roses that I have and that I love. I hope you like them. I love the ribbons too....

Ontem casou-se uma minha amiga de longa data, a Sónia, e eu ajudei-a, naquilo que pude, a concretizar as suas ideias. Ela queria uma festa em tons de verde e com apontamentos em castanho, e branco de base. Com uma equipa convocada pela noiva, montamos as flores que serviram de adereço aos guardanapos e os pom-pons que penduramos no tecto - não imaginam o tempo que demoramos! A Sónia idealizou e tratou dos convites, marcadores de mesa, molduras e imagens, que usamos depois nos centros de mesa. Usei os doces da ementa para fazer a mesa das sobremesas, tentando coordenar as cores e o aspecto geral com a decoração envolvente.
A festa foi no restaurante da Praia da Luz e o tempo não podia ter estado melhor! O resultado final foi uma sala fresca, um ar de Verão, com a praia mesmo ao lado e o maravilhoso cheiro a maresia... Foi um dia fantástico e a noiva brilhou, como lhe é devido. Espero que sejam imensamente felizes.

Bolo: Cupcake
Yesterday a long time friend got married and I helped her with the wedding party decoration. The venue was in a restaurant here in Porto, on the beach, and I used Sonia's choice of colors: green with brown notes and white as the background tone. She did the invitations herself, as well as the place markers and the frames and pictures we used on the centerpieces. With the help of our friends, we assembled the paper flowers and poms - you can't hardly imagine how long it took us! I used the desserts that were part of the menu and tried to coordinate the colors and overall look with the rest of the decor.
I think the final result was a light room, with a summery feeling - the smell of the sea coming from the beach added an extra flair to the scene... The weather was great and the bride looked wonderful, as she should. And I hope they live happily ever after.
Chocolate cake
E lá fiz eu outro bolinho - a receita é a mesma e este bolo fica sempre muito bom. Diziam que ía chover mas, afinal, esteve bom este fim-de-semana. Fiquei mesmo contente! E mais contente estou porque, provavelmente, vou poder remodelar a minha sala e ter mais espaço para as minhas coisas... :)
And I baked another cake. This recipe always comes out good. They said it was going to rain the whole weekend, but the weather's been nice after all. And that made me really happy! But what makes me even happier is that I might do some changes at my living room and finally get room enough for my little things... :)
Wild poppies
Encontrei-as ontem na rua, nuns montinhos ao pé do passeio. Lá consegui trazer algumas, com a ajuda da Carlota, as duas felizes. Ainda trouxemos um pé, a ver se pega mas, como são flores selvagens, não tenho muita esperança. Lindas, lindas!

I found them on a small piece of land, in the street. Me and Carlota managed to bring a few, happy that we also brought a couple of them to plant - don't know if't it's going to work out, as they are wild flowers. They are so beautiful and fragile...
Dinner with an Easter touch
Olá! Apesar de estar de férias, não tenho conseguido dar a devida atenção ao blog, pois tenho tido trabalho e não consegui conciliar as duas coisas... Já deixei algumas fotos na página do Facebook, mas partilho aqui convosco a decoração da mesa de jantar que fiz em minha casa, para um grupo de amigas de longa data. É um encontro rotativo, em casa de cada uma (somos 7) e, de dois em dois meses, estamos juntas e pomos a conversa em dia. Adoro-as!
Não gosto de encher a mesa de adereços e decorações, daí só ter dado um ar de Páscoa em alguns pormenores - nas amêndoas nas jarras, nas flores de Primavera, nos cupcakes decorados e nos pássaros e ninhos, cujos ovos são tão próprios da época. Mantive as cores da minha sala (os verdes, branco e azuis), para enquadrar com os tons circundantes e optei por toalha e guardanapos de linho (adoro!).
As fotos foram tiradas ao final do dia e chovia... é pena, pois podiam ser mais luminosas. Ora vejam, e digam de vossa justiça:
Hi everyone! Although I'm on vacations, I still had to work, so I didn't make the time to come here and "talk" to you. I already shared some of these photos on the Facebook's page, but now I'm showing them here as well. I did a dinner at home with a group of old friends - it's a rotative meeting, we gather in each other houses every 2 months (we're 7) and catch up with the news. I love them!
As I don't particularly like very fully decorated tables, I opted for little Easter details, such as the almonds inside the jar, the Spring flowers, the eggs and bird's nest, as well as the decorated cupcakes. Everything in soft tones and in the colors of my dining room - mint green, blues and white. I chose a linen tablecloth and napkins, I really like them!
The photos were taken when the table was set, close to dinner time, so there wasn't much light and it was raining... Take a look and tell me what you think. :)
Weekend blogger
Estou a tornar-me uma blogger de fim-de-semana. Não consigo ter tempo à semana, e acabo por apenas conseguir postar algumas fotos na página do Facebook, para mostrar ao Mundo as coisas de que gosto. Desculpem, mas não tenho mesmo conseguido...

I'm becoming a weekend blogger. I just don't have the time during the week, so I end up posting a few photos on the Facebook page, to share the things that I like with the rest of the world... I'm sorry, but I 've been really busy lately...
